purchasing the Sherpak STORM™ Car-top Gear Stow. We are confident
that with the proper care and consideration, you will be very satisfied with your
Sherpak’s™ performance.
Please follow
these helpful instructions:
Loading the Sherpak STORM™
•
Before loading, make sure the
top of your vehicle has been washed thoroughly and that the bottom of your Sherpak
STORM™ is clean to prevent dirt from scratching the surface of your
roof underneath the Gear Stow.
• Position the unzipped Sherpak STORM™ on
the roof between your vehicles rack bars. The Sherpak STORM™ logo
should face forward while the zipper opening faces the rear of the vehicle.
• Load the cargo
area with weight evenly distributed to ensure maximum performance. Make sure
not to throw objects into the Sherpak STORM™ as this may dent the roof
of your car.
• Once the cargo
area has been loaded, zip the Sherpak STORM™ closed (zipper pulls
may be locked together for added security).
• Loop the
2" straps under your vehicle’s rack bars and snap the quick release
buckles into place. Take up any excess
slack by pulling on the ends of the strap until they fit snugly against the
outer edge of the rack bars and tuck excess straps into the attached strap
retainer. Make sure not to cinch it so tight that you damage or bend your
rack bar. Repeat this step so each 2”
strap fastens around rack bar.
• When stopping,
always check to make sure no one has tampered with any quick-release buckles
before continuing your journey.

Special Note for Vehicles without Rack Bars: For securing
the Sherpak Storm to vehicles without roof racks, you must use the included
Universal Attachment Kit, which allows the unit to secure to the rooftop using
Gutter hooks. This Kit contains a
separate set of included instructions.

Please note, DO NOT load the Sherpak STORM™
while it is still on the ground and then transfer it fully loaded to the car-top.
Although this may seem easier, Seattle Sports warns you that lifting heavy
objects may cause personal injury and damage to your vehicle. Never lift a loaded Sherpak STORM™
by the webbing straps. Excessive
pressure on any sewn point may cause irreparable damage.
Sherpak STORM™ Care
• The Sherpak™
Storm is made from heavy-duty coated vinyl, which can easily be
washed with mild soap and water.
Customers who wish to maximize the life of their gear stow may want to
periodically clean the Sherpak STORM™ with a vinyl conditioner.
• Keep all
webbing away from sharp objects that could cause fraying and performance
effects.
• When not in
use, fold the Sherpak STORM™ with all webbing straps folded into
the middle to protect the straps and buckles.
Warning!
• Contents may
shift during travel. Do not attempt to lift a fully loaded Sherpak™ STORM™
onto or off of the vehicle.
• Always secure the Sherpak STORM™
before driving.
• If you hear
excessive flapping noise, immediately pull over and check to make sure the Sherpak
STORM™ is firmly secured.
• Be extremely
careful to make sure sharp or heavy objects are well padded within the Sherpak
STORM™ If there is any question,
put these objects inside your vehicle.
Limited
Warranty
Seattle Sports products are guaranteed for material and
workmanship for one year. This warranty
is applicable only if all of the above instructions are followed and the
product is used as recommended.
This Limited Warranty does not cover normal wear and tear or
damage resulting from misuse, accidents or alterations.
The purchaser and/or user of this Sherpak STORM™
acknowledges that Seattle Sports has no control over the attachment of its
products to vehicles, nor does Seattle Sports have control over items which are
loaded into the Sherpak STORM™.
Seattle Sports thus assumes no responsibility for any damage to any
property or persons arising out of the improper attachment, use or loading of
this Sherpak STORM™
This Limited Warranty is in lieu of all other warranties expressed
or implied, and does not cover consequential damages of any kind that may arise
from the use or misuse of any Seattle Sports Company product.
